What We Do
Working mainly in the advocacy of women and children rights in Malaysia, WEA strives to bring awareness to the importance of gender equality and ending violent vicious cycles and practices that appear in local communities and abroad. We do this by offering the following services below!
Counselling and Guidance on Violence-Based Issues
We, trained staff and volunteers, provide free and confidential assistance to women, men and children suffering from mental and emotional health problems and sometimes physical and financial stress. These are the effects of gender-based violence.
Advocacy for policies on VAW and GBV
We advocate for gender equality and the rights of women in Malaysia. We raise awareness on these issues through talks and consultations and take part in national campaigns.
Training on Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
We design and give specialized half-day, full-day and multiday educational workshops on issues of violence against women and gender equality at home and in the workplace.
Empowerment Workshops
We regularly host workshops empowering women and children in Malaysia from all walks of life. We work with groups like Sri Mas, HEN and trained professionals to teach participants how to build an income for themselves.
